She received her M.A. in Fine Ar ts with honors from Beaux-Arts School in Besançon. \; She has been w orking in ceramics and paintings that she likes to combine. Karima Duchamp builds up thin slabs of clay in geometric shapes to create ceramic painte rly sculptures with alluring silhouettes and landscapes that evoke emotion s on the surfaces.\n\nKarima Duchamp’s body of work has won multiple awa rds and has been included in numerous solo and group shows like The Salon Art+Design in New York\, Art Basel Design in Miami and Art Basel in Basel. Her work is included in public collections such as Ariana Museum in Genev a\, Yingge Ceramic Museum in Taipei City and Siegburg Ceramic Museum in Ge rmany. Allowing time to build\, experiment\, contempla te and reflect together: throughout the working days\, the creation of a s pace of interaction between the participants will be encouraged.\n\nTeachi ng method This course is open to people wishing to discover colored high t emperatures engobes to be applied on bisque pieces in a personal and paint erly way. Through the instructor guidance\, students will find inspiration during the creative work with an inspiration board that we will construct together to develop a personal palette of colors and personal ideas of de coration.\n\nKarima will teach her unique technique of decorating with lay ering of colored engobes. She will mainly lead the students through voice and technical guidance to let them experiment with the engobes and develop their own project. She will pay particular attention in following the stu dents collectively through interaction between the participants and indivi dually by pointing out artistic references as their work develop. Karima w ill illustrate her course with a presentation of her works and how she arr ived at navigating from paintings to ceramic paintings. During the week\, we will slow down the process of decoration to find some personal touches a kind of personal voice. Karima will present some artist videos and websi tes references to find inspiration in other artistic practices.\n\nLogisti cs: We will make the engobes.
