The purpose of the workshop is to understand and utilize the opportunities for shaping forms inherent in molding errors. We will learn how to prepare a multi-part plaster molding form, which allows us to shape the internal and external forms of the final object.
The workshop begins with a screening of projections, the first part of which consists of the presentation of Zsolt József Simon’s works, allowing us to observe and understand this special molding procedure. The second half of the screening will demonstrate the creation of a specific item from the beginning to the final stages.
Participants begin working on their individual plans or based on one of Zsolt’s items, through individual consultation, before everyone starts creating their own plaster form. All participants will create a different form, allowing us to learn from each other’s work. We will go through the entire process from mixing the plaster, sawing, sanding and assembling the plaster form all the way to the porcelain casting.
